Dr. Kerstin Gaddy has served as Assistant Dean of CUA’s School of Arts and Sciences and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of German in CUA’s Department of Modern Languages and Literatures. (By the way, she is Swedish, and in the Swedish language the letter k is sometimes pronounced in a way similar to the way that English-speakers pronounce the letter combination sh.) In the video below, she discusses yesterday’s excerpt from Murakami’s novel Kafka on the Shore.
Dr. Gaddy mentions Eichmann in Jerusalem by Hannah Arendt as the book that the narrator found. You can find a link to it on Amazon here. Dr. Gaddy also says that there will be opportunities to examine the Holocaust during your time at CUA. Why is learning about and thinking about the Holocaust still important today?
